Blue Heron Village is committed to preserving our beautiful lake for future generations! While we actively maintain its condition, we recognize that DEP dam management is outside our control. Like many lakes, its future largely depends on continued government approval. In any event we are committed to maintaining a beautiful natural environment for our residents and wildlife to enjoy.
Our Commitment
At Blue Heron Village, we remain fully committed to the long-term preservation of the lake and its natural beauty. Should the (PA DEP) determine that approval for maintaining the lake cannot be continued, our contingency plan is to thoughtfully re-envision the area as an alternative natural sanctuary. This would include a series of well-designed ponds, enhanced walking paths, and tranquil recreational spaces intended to preserve the environment and the quality of life our residents value. Although safeguarding the lake is our foremost priority, we believe the proposed ponds-and-trails concept represents a viable, aesthetically appealing, and environmentally responsible alternative. This ponds plan option would also require PA DEP approval; however, we are confident it provides a sustainable option. The conceptual alternative ponds plan may be viewed here.
